Animal Abuse Prevention Agency
"Animal Abuse Prevention Agency, Inc. is a non-profit organization
which takes a pro-active approach in preventing cruelty to animals. Our
services cover educating pet owners on the dangers of giving their animals
away by using "free to good home ads". In addition, AAPA does pet adoptions,
pet rescue, provides veterinarian services when needed, works for the enforcement
of animal rights, provides temporary care for pets without a home, performs
grooming, and supplies food for pet nutrition. AAPA has an active spay/neuter
program which has prevented hundreds of unwanted animals from being born.
The program also educates pet owners on the health benefits to their animals
of a spay/neuter program as well as the importance of stopping pet overpopulation."

Big Cat Rescue
"MISSION STATEMENT To provide the best home we can for the
animals in our care and to reduce the number of cats that suffer the fate
of abuse, abandonment or extinction by teaching people about the plight
of the cats, both in the wild and in captivity, and how they can help through
their behavior and support of better laws to protect the cats. " |
Circuses.com
"For animals in circuses, there is no such thing as “positive reinforcement”—only
varying degrees of punishment and deprivation. Animals do not voluntarily
ride bicycles, stand on their heads, or jump through rings of fire. They
don’t perform these and other difficult tricks because they want to; they
perform because they’re afraid not to." |
The Humane Society of the United
States (HSUS
"The mission of The HSUS is to create a humane and sustainable world
for all animals—a world that will also benefit people. We seek to forge
a lasting and comprehensive change in human consciousness of and behavior
toward all animals in order to prevent animal cruelty, exploitation, and
neglect, and to protect wild habitats and the entire community of life.
The HSUS seeks to achieve our goals through education, advocacy,
public policy reform, and the empowerment of our supporters and partners.
We do not engage in or support actions that are illegal or violent, or
that run counter to the basic principles of compassion and respect for
others." |
